Down By The River - 'Howl' Launch Party

A big Russell Club shout out to all who made it down to the wonky old Dutch barge yesterday to celebrate the launch of James Delay's debut release Howl

Fair to say all had a jolly old time of it

And here's to many more

Thankfully it was a lovely and sunny winters day, chilly up on deck but below was warm and cosy helped by some delightful selections from messers James Delay, Jamie Blanco, The Reverend JFK, Vega and very special guest Ross Allen.

James Delay 'Howl' now available to download

Russell Club Records is very proud to present its second release 'Howl', the debut from James Delay.

James Delay is an understated fresh young talent primed and ready to emerge on to the electronic music scene. Having already gained worldwide credibility amongst the blogging community through his exciting and energetic reworks of contemporary mainstream artists including Lady Gaga and Rihanna, James is poised to unleash his own productions with his forthcoming debut ‘Howl’ on newly established independent label Russell Club Records.

Sighting the likes of Soulwax, Breakbot, Arcade Fire, Classixx, Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem, Surkin, Alex Metric, Azari & III, Joe and Will Ask, Louis La Roche, Mr. Oizo and Sebastian Tellier amongst his heroes and influences, Delay has an impeccable taste and a great ear for melody, which translates to both his productions and his passionate and involving dj sets as was seen this summer, smashing up his debut festival set at the award nominated Stanton Calling.

This young talent has no aspirations to ‘make it quick’ and fade away, he is not simply jumping on the electronic band wagon. James has his own distinct and elegant sound that can sleekly cross from the underground into the mainstream. James Delay is representing real new music

Howl is available to purchase now exclusively from the Russell Club Records webstore
